The Realbotix Control App is a robust cross-platform interface designed to manage and interact with advanced robotic companions developed by Realbotix. I led the entire UX and UI design process for both the mobile and web versions (currently in development). This app serves as the central hub for configuring, controlling, and communicating with physical robots in real time. With a focus on accessibility and flexibility, the interface was designed to make complex robotic interactions intuitive and user-friendly.
Controller
The controller screen is organized around a tab-based layout, providing users with quick access to core functionality. Each tab offers a focused space for managing specific aspects of the robot or character, streamlining the user journey while maintaining flexibility for advanced configurations. Users can manage physical behaviors through the “Actions” section, where specific movements can be triggered or scheduled.
Chat & Phrases
The “Chat” is the primary space for interaction with the character. Users can type messages, engage in spoken conversations, or initiate voice-only chats. A dedicated “Call” screen supports real-time voice conversations, bringing a more natural and immersive communication experience. The “Phrases” feature allows for the creation and triggering of predefined lines, supporting expressive and responsive interaction. Both areas were crafted with a focus on conversational flow and emotional engagement.
Characters & Memory Manager
Users can select or create new characters to personalize their robot experience. Each character can be uniquely configured and managed with ease. The Memory Manager supports long-term memory settings and preferences, allowing users to define behavioral traits, responses, and context awareness.
Calibration
Calibration offers fine-tuned control over facial expressions and movements. Users can manually adjust each servo through sliders to define left and right movement ranges. The layout prioritizes precision while remaining approachable for non-technical users.
